The Computer Society of India is a non-profit, professional body where IT professionals meet to exchange views and information, to learn and share ideas. CSI has over 20000 members to date which includes individual professionals, students, academicians, scientist, corporate bodies and other institutions.
The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of the theory and practice of Computer Engineering and Technology Systems, Science and Engineering, Information Processing and related Arts and Sciences.
All matters of interest to the Industry and the Profession are discussed in regular forums held at the Chapters spread throughout the country at different cities and towns. The Society also has Student branches established all over the country.
The programs help members to,
- Discuss current development and applications in various fields
- Discuss policies of the government and manufacturers
- Report professional views to policy makers
- Evolve standards to be adopted all over the country, and
- Learn from information pooled in by specialists.
The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain the integrity and competence of the profession and fosters a sense of partnership amongst members. Besides the activities held at the Chapter and Student Branches, the Society also conducts periodic conferences, seminars at Regional and Divisional levels.
