Registrations Registrations for Yanta Yudha (Robotics) are charged at Rs.40 per team per level and cannot take place online. If you wish to register for Yantra Yudha, look for iDeas '04 Reg. Desk in your college, which we will be setting up one of these days. Alternately you can send an email to yantrayudha@ideas04.org to register for Yantra Yudha, and the reply to your mail will contain details about how you can make the payment.

Team of maximum 4 members.

LEVEL 1: ZIG ZAG ZOOMMM……

Event :

There will be 8 pins/objects placed in a straight line. Your aim is to build a manually controlled robot to follow a zig-zag path shown around the pins in the shortest possible time.

Rules:
  1. There is no limitation on robot size provided it should follow the specified path.

  2. Your robot should not touch the pins if it touches then a time penalty of 5 sec will be added to your course time with every touch.

  3. The time taken time to complete the path + penalty time is your run time.

  4. The team with shortest run time is declared as the winner. However judges’ decision will be final.
For Eliminations:

4 pins will be kept instead of 8
25 teams with best time will make it through the Semi-finals.

The team that goes through the semi-finals will be put up on the website / DBIT Notice Board / will be intimated by email.


LEVEL 2: MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

Event :

The robot you build should be capable of overcoming the obstacles in its path. The best time wins.

Rules:
  1. Your robot should not exceed 20 x 20 cm.

  2. The width of the tires should not exceed 3 cm.

  3. If your robot slips or falls from the track, the robot will be placed at the previous check point / Start. The organizers won’t be responsible for any damage that happens to the robot in its fall.

  4. The track shall be suspended at a height of 2.5 feet / 30 inches from the ground.

  5. There shall be only one entrance to the rotating disk. If robot touches the wall of the disk a time penalty of 5 sec. will be added to your time.

  6. In case no-one completes the race, time will be considered for declaring the winners.

  7. There may be minor changes in track dimensions. Keep checking the website for updates.

For Eliminations:

The robot will have to run between Start & Check point 1. Top 25 teams with best timing makes it through the Semi-finals.

The team that goes through the semi-finals will be put up in the website / DBIT Notice Board / will be intimated by email.


LEVEL 3: WILL YOU MAKE IT THROUGH ?

Event :

You have to construct a self contained robot (autonomous) to reach the destination square from the start square and search the path for it self.

Rules:
  1. Your robot should not exceed 10” x 10”.There is no restriction on height.

  2. There is no restriction on sensing methods provided it does not damage the tracks. If a participant is found to guilty of damaging the track in any way they will be disqualified instantly.

  3. On-board supply is preferable and no external connections will be allowed.

  4. Participants should not touch the robot once the run starts. If they touch, then a time penalty of 5 sec. will be added and also, your robot will be placed at the start.

  5. All participants should be ready with the circuit diagrams and description of their machines.

  6. The robot shall not be reprogrammed at the start time of competition.

  7. A time of 1 min. will be given to the contestants to adjust sensors etc. After that, the teams get 10 min. to reach the destination.

  8. If the robot makes more than one run, the best time will be considered.

  9. The judges will decide the winners on the basis of timing, performance etc. The judges’ decision will be final.

For Eliminations:

For eliminations there will not be any blocks kept .The robot should reach the destination within 10 min.

BASIC RULES :

    For LEVELS 1 and 2:
  1. The controller cannot physically drag the robots.

  2. Decision of the judges will be final.

  3. The control unit may be cordless or connected by a cord. The length of the cord should be sufficiently long. In case participants intend to use the cordless units care should be taken regarding the radio interference. Organizers will not be responsible if the cordless units do not work due to presence of interference of any sort.

  4. The use of readymade models such as Lego sets or parts such as steering mechanism or chassis will not be allowed.

  5. Every robot would be thoroughly checked before the contest. If the robot does not meet the specifications mentioned above (for Level 2) the participants will be disqualified.

  6. If a participant is found to guilty of damaging the track in any way they will be disqualified instantly.

    FOR LEVEL 3:
  1. The controller cannot physically drag the robots.

  2. If a participant is found to guilty of damaging the track in any way they will be disqualified instantly.
